CIBT acquires Comet Consular Services
Valentum advised the owners of Comet Consular Services on the sale to CIBT.
Comet Consular Services was established in 1985 and has since offered professional visa and legalisation services in the Nordic market. Today, Comet is a leading player in the Nordics and the company has managed to build an impressive position through an impressive customer satisfaction, strong relationships with embassies and consulates, and strong abilities in coping with a changing market. Comet links the customer with the international market through fast and efficient handling of visa applications, legalisation, translation, movement and document logistics.
The group was bought by CIBT, a global provider of immigration and visa services for individuals and businesses, with more than 60 offices in 27 countries. CIBT regularly acquires companies in the sector and has made more than 50 acquisitions since 2012.
“Comet and CIBT share the same values and are focused on customer satisfaction, flexibility in changing markets and innovation. Together, Comet and CIBT will be even better at handling visa applications and legalisation in the Nordic countries and will be able to offer the best possible service to even more satisfied customers. Furthermore, the personnel will gain access to international training courses”, says Mats Collberg, owner and CEO at Comet Consular Services.
Comet’s turnover was more than SEK 86 million in 2018 and the company has approximately 50 employees. The company has offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsingfors.
Valentum’s project team consisted of Tomas Almgren, Henrik Jakobsson and Lovisa Bernhardsson.
