Advises Monterro on the sale of Grade to Viking Venture

Clearwater has advised Monterro on the sale of portfolio company Grade, a leading provider of B2B software provider within the human capital management (HCM) segment. Since its acquisition by Monterro, the company has tripled the ARR, primarily through the extension of the product suite to encompass additional modules, as well as through the acquisition of new customers.

Grade offers a full-scale HCM software suite, including learning management, talent management and pulse surveys. The company has a strong position within the public sector and among large corporates in Sweden. Headquartered in Lund and with around 35 employees, the company has an annual turnover of over €3.2m (SEK 40m).

Viking Venture will be supporting Grade with resources and experience in order to accelerate the company’s growth going forward. A number of Grade’s existing shareholders, including employees and the management team, will remain as operative minority owners and continue to develop the company and the software offering together with Viking Venture.
